The Victoria Shamrocks, defending Western Lacrosse Association champions, are excited to announce that they will be launching their inaugural day camp for minor lacrosse players in July 2014. The camp will be held at the home of the Shamrocks, 100.3 The Q Centre at 1767 Old Island Highway from July 7th through July 10th.
Featured Camp instructors include Shamrocks offense players Rhys Duch, Corey Small, defender Dan MacRae, and transition player Karsen Leung. The balance of coaching staff will be announced in June, which will include more members from the 2014 Shamrock roster.
This unique instructional camp will focus on player development, individual skills, team skills, and game play. The 4-day day camp will run from 9am to 3pm each day, and will be open to minor lacrosse players in the Tyke, Novice, Pee Wee, and Bantam age groups. Registration will be limited to 40 players in each group.
“We’re excited to launch this camp as part of our plan to reach out to the growing minor lacrosse community in Greater Victoria,” said Shamrocks Executive Director Paul German. “The Shamrocks have a long tradition in Victoria, and this is a great way for our players to give back to the system that got them started in lacrosse when they were younger.”
Campers are guaranteed to receive a minimum of 10 hours of practice and instruction on the Q Arena Floor, leading up to inter-squad scrimmages on final day of camp; as well as training to promote field agility and community center activities.

Are you looking for new and exciting fundraising ideas for your team?
Through the Island Return It Ticket Fundraising Program, your team will be able to fundraise AND enjoy a fun-filled Shamrocks lacrosse game.
How It Works
Teams can sign out books of highly discounted ticket vouchers to one of the nine Victoria Shamrocks regular season home games. Teams then sell these vouchers to friends, family, neighbours, and throughout their community for full price, keeping the difference for their team.
Your teams will be assigned a game night to sell tickets to, and will receive a special PA welcome to the game, thanking your customers for supporting your team. What better way to bond as a group than by attending a lacrosse game with your friends, family, and supporters!
When the books have been sold, return the stubs to Shamrocks staff with payment. Your customers’ tickets will be available at “Will Call” on game day under their name – no extra administration required!
With 10 vouchers per book, your team can earn up to $80 per book of tickets sold.
(see the attached document for all the pricing details)
Contact Victoria Shamrocks ticketing staff at email@example.com or 250-478-ROCK (6725) to get more information or get started with your fundraiser today!

It has been brought to the attention of the Canadian Lacrosse Association (CLA) that the Under Armour Pro Box Lacrosse Cage Face Mask is being falsely advertised as being “CLA Approved” and claiming to “meet CSA standards”.
The CLA would like to clearly state that as of February 27, 2014 the Under Armour Pro Box Lacrosse Cage Face Mask is NOT CSA-approved and therefore is not legal for use per CLA policy 12.4.2. The CLA has confirmed that although Under Armour is in the process of obtaining CSA approval, there are a number of components missing and therefore the certification has not been granted.
The CLA does not approve facemasks for lacrosse. The CLA endorses facemasks that are approved by the CSA.
