Revival Lacrosse Camp
Revival Lacrosse and Arrow Express Sports (AES) have announced a partnership for 2014. Seven-time National Lacrosse League All-Pro and 2009 MVP Dan Dawson will hold camps in Oakville, Victoria and Six Nations in the coming months.
“Our main goal is to grow the game at the grassroots level, and to give the best instruction to kids that we can,” said the Knighthawks forward. “We not only do that by having the best lacrosse players in the world at these camps, but they are also the best teachers.”
The relationship with AES will allow Dawson to bring his camp and his exclusive Pro Lacrosse Experience to the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena. Arrow Express Sports is a sport management company based out of the ILA at Six Nations. AES creates opportunities for youth through lacrosse and strives to promote overall healthy lifestyle choices through its camps, clinics and special projects.
The camps are open to 90 players at the Tyke, Novice, Pee Wee and Bantam levels. Joining Dawson this summer are Rochester Knighthawks goalie Matt Vinc, Knighthawks forwards Cody Jamieson, Craig Point, Mike Accursi and Stephen Keogh, along with Buffalo’s Anthony Cosmo, Toronto’s Bill Greer, and Calgary’s Jeff Shattler and Dan McRae.
“These guys are great ambassadors for the sport and that’s very important for what we are trying to do,” said Dawson. “Lacrosse is a very unique sport where the players are very much engaged as far as the fans and local players. We are excited to be growing the business and taking them across North America.”
The camps will kick off at the ILA with a March Break Camp from Monday, March 10th to Thursday, March 13th. The second camp will travel to the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre for four days, beginning on Monday, July 14th and concluding on Thursday, July 17th. The camp will then make a stop at Bear Mountain Arena (home of the Shamrocks) in Victoria, BC from Monday, July 21st to Thursday July 24th. The final installment of the camps will take place back at the ILA from Monday, July 28th to Thursday, July 31st. Camps will run daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (9am-12pm Tyke/Novice and 1pm-4pm PeeWee/Bantam.
New this year is the Pro Lacrosse Experience. The camp is limited to just 34 players at the midget level with Six Nations serving as its home base from Wednesday, July 2nd to Friday, July 4th (9am-3pm). The Pro Lacrosse Experience will include breaking down game film, weight training, studying nutrition and getting reps on the floor.
“It is giving high-performance lacrosse players the ability to get a three-day pro lacrosse training camp format,” said Dawson. “This is the program I am most excited about this summer.”
